![]() I also need to empty the dustbin often as it's small and fills quickly. After testing this vacuum on spilled flour, I still have flour coating the inside of the dustbin, no matter how many times I've opened the bin to clean it. The dustbin is easily emptied but tough to clean due to its odd shape. This mode is best suited for heavy vacuuming jobs or picking up larger debris. Boost mode, the most powerful cleaning option, increases power during cleaning. Eco mode lowers power to save battery, although there wasn't much difference in power performance during our tests on this mode. It uses an infrared sensor to increase or decrease power depending on the amount of debris it's picking up. Clean Sense IQ is what I primarily tested, as this is the power mode that's most suited for general cleaning. The Shark Stratos has three modes for cleaning: Clean Sense IQ, Eco, and Boost mode. In addition to the bendable stick and swivel head, the vacuum has a press button to control its power and mode changes - this saves you from applying constant pressure to a power switch. Both the full-size and handheld versions of this vacuum were also convenient to use at all times of day, thanks to the LED headlights that illuminate the floor. The model's lack of a cord and easy maneuverability make it a fantastic choice for those who want to pass on a clunky vacuum. The Shark Stratos Cordless Vacuum is about as simple as it gets. Shark advertises 60 minutes of battery life in Eco mode when using the vacuum as a handheld, but I didn't even get 15 minutes of battery life out of it. The longest I could clean in the vacuum's standard mode was about 30 minutes, and that was only on easy cleaning jobs like picking up dirt from the hardwood floor. This powerful suction does come at a cost: the vacuum's battery life. I could easily slide it beneath my bed and sofa for cleaning in hard-to-reach spots, thanks to the bendable stick and swivel head. I also enjoyed how functional this model is. I loved that I could clean up almost anything on all three cleaning modes with little trouble. But its ability to suck up materials that naturally end up in my home was a huge selling point for me and is something my upright vacuum often fails to do. The Stratos performed well during our standardized testing, where we tried the vacuum on hard floors and carpets with materials like flour, sugar, kibble, and lentils. While this vacuum sometimes had trouble with extra-fine materials like the sand that my pup carried in following a swim, it had no issue gathering larger items such as stray filling from my dog's toys, slices of onion I dropped on the floor, and most impressively, large pieces of hard plastic from my dog's chewed toys. ![]() I was most impressed with its ability to pick up debris both big and small. The Shark Stratos Cordless Vacuum meets my needs exceptionally well. I'm also a spiller and drop bits of what I'm cooking or working with onto the floor, so my home can quickly spiral out of control unless I vacuum daily. I have an active dog who frequently goes swimming and hiking with me in our city's parks and recreation areas - and she brings home quite a bit of debris after those outings. When I've tried cordless vacuums in the past, they often struggle to meet my cleaning needs. ![]() The Shark Stratos Vacuum can clean up tough messes on both hardwood and carpet. It comes slightly charged, but for maximum effectiveness, you should let it charge, which takes about four and a half hours. For the price, it seems like I should have received at least an extra air filter. I was disappointed to unbox this vacuum and discover no additional filter replacements or additional brush cleaning tools. This model also has a plug-in wall charger and a Duster Crevice Tool and Anti-Allergen Brush. The directions were simple, and the assembly process allowed me to get a closer look at this vacuum's many features, such as the odor neutralizer, which was the first piece I needed to attach to the vacuum's cleaning head. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly this vacuum came together. The vacuum came in three smaller parts within the box, which I simply snapped together upon assembling. The Shark Stratos Cordless Vacuum arrived in two tall boxes, one within the other. The Shark Stratos Cordless Vacuum is easy to set up, with assembly taking no more than five minutes.
